SAMUEL Joy, 28 years , AboCoders Trainee

Q1: Give us a general experience with Miss Africa sponsored AboCoders training and how your digital skills were enhanced

Joy: AboCoders training has helped me to be more informed about the use of computers especially the writing of code and the use of Microsoft Excel for calculations. I can also perfectly make use of Microsoft Word. I have grown to love computers and my digital skills have been greatly improved.

Q2: How did the Miss Africa sponsored AboCoders training enhance your perceptions of the involvement of women in technology

Joy: I have always been well aware of the involvement of women in technology and I think it is a good thing. However, my journey with AboCoders have made me realize that women can do even much more in the issues of technology and can use computers better to solve world problems.

Q3: Give us a professional instance during your training that remains a landmark in your career profession

Joy: One major landmark is my experience learning under one of our trainers, Miss Bukola. Her teaching skills have really boosted my interest in technology and I believe my encounter with her will remain with me for a long time. She teaches well and I hope that one day, I will as well be able to teach other women in the industry.

Q4: Outline your take on the future of women technology in Africa

Joy:  I think women are going to do very well in technology in Africa. Even now, they already are taking the forefront.
