Ms. Matilda Kissibugum a recent graduate at the Kumasi Hive Miss.Africa Digital sponsored training speaks to us about her experience learning how to do graphic design

Give a general experience with Miss.Africa Digital sponsored, Kumasi Hive training & how your digital skills were enhanced. What was most challenging?

Am Matilda Kissibugum, a third year chemistry student at Kwame Nkrumah University for Science and Technology, Kumasi. At Miss Africa Digital training at Kumasi hive I did graphic design. We were mostly taught IT theoretically but at this training it was all practical we learnt a great deal of things from our trainers and from the assignments given it was easy to go through the course. I had no idea what graphic design was but after the training I learnt a lot of things about designing.

How did the training enhance your perceptions of the involvement of Women in Technology?

So after the training we did projects and the way our colleagues used graphic design to solve societal problems made me change my perceptions of women in technology. When people knew I was doing graphic design what they say is wow a lady doing graphic design.

Do you see opportunities for your future from the training? Yes, I see a great future ahead.

I can use what I learnt from the training to help society and myself as a whole.

Give us a professional instance during the training that remains a landmark in your career profession.

During the training our trainer stressed that nothing in graphic design is wrong you just need to make it great and with this I always show people my work and it has helped a lot in other fields of life.

Outline your take on the future of women technology in Africa?

Women a very passionate about their work and everything they do. If more women are brought out into the world of technology, there will be no worries. They will bring out great and amazing inventions and great deal of ideas that will work to help the development of our country and world as a whole.
