“Parallel to my advocacy on the philosophy of positive “tech disruption”, and how it has the ability to create a welcome change in our societies, if we regularly engage in doing something out of our comfort zone for our mind, body and spirit, I’m a great believer that we will find ourselves in a much better space as human beings, as well as be more effective in our work.” 2019: Year of work-life-balance , – Sophia Bekele, Founder of Miss.Africa Digital
DCA Trust is proud to celebrate the Women’s Day throughout the year as part of of our Miss.Africa digital program along with DCA Academy.
The International Women’s Day is once again here with us. It is a focal point in the movement for women’s rights as well as recognition of their achievements in shaping the world we live in.
As the world presses for progress, this remains to be an important facet or ingredient: Balance!. Our new year message was promoting the Work-Life Balance, that we need a rethink of how we organize, prioritize and balance the conflicting demands of our work which is mostly valued based on our productive capacity, against our best personal and human assets – our mind, body and spirit.
The International Women’s Day 2019 campaign is aptly themed #BalanceforBetter. Indeed balance is not just a women’s issue, it is a business issue; the boardroom, government, media, academic, work-environment, wealth, sports coverage all need Gender balance as an essential ingredient for economies and communities to thrive.
Our Pan-African Miss.Africa Digital program aims everyday to promote the growth of Africa’s all round growth ecosystem to bridge gender divide through the women-in-tech and entrepreneurship program.
Last year, Miss.Africa Digital pledged, #PressedForProgress and #PoweredYourInnovation throughout Africa. This year it gets even better, we go #BeyondInnovation as we announce once again the annual Miss.Africa Digital Seed Fund.
