Celebrate International Women’s Month with Seed Fund Award

1 Mins read

Greetings,

In celebration of International  Women’s Month, we are extending CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR MISS. AFRICA SEED-FUND IMPACT PROGRAM to 15th April 2022.

International  Women’s Month is more than just a day to honor the women in our lives, it’s also a timely reminder that achieving gender equality needs commitment and action.

Women and girls continue to be underrepresented in the field of technology despite representing half of the global population.
According to studies, women make up around 25% of technology workers, and their quit rate in high-tech jobs is 41%, or more than double that of men.
Gender disparities in STEM continue to prevent women and girls from reaching their full potential and effectively contributing to development concerns.
More girls and women should be encouraged to pursue careers in STEM subjects.

The Miss.Africa Digital Program is a gender-focused initiative aimed primarily at women audiences in Africa, to increase their involvement in early technology use and adoption, as well as bridging the economic divide through employment and/or entrepreneurship.

It is one of the fundamental pillars of DotConnectAfrica Trust’s corporate social responsibility program, intending to attract substantial female demography of Internet users in Africa to participate in complementary gender development programs that enhance lives through digital inclusion.

Miss.Africa Digital, led by the DCA Academy, also announced the annual Seed Fund program in Africa, which provides grants to support women and girls in the STEM fields to start or expand their initiatives that will increase their digital opportunities in IoTs, Mobile Internet, E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, and leadership roles.

Miss.Africa Seed Fund has a Track-Record of Impact. We have already served in 12 countries in AfricaKenya, Uganda, Tunisia, Nigeria, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Ghana, Lesotho, Gambia, Seychelles, Madagascar, and Zambia.
