Despite women holding only 26% of the UK tech workforce and a mere 5% in leadership roles, eight female-led tech startups have collectively raised £190 million in investments.

Mira Murati Launches AI Startup
In February 2025, Mira Murati, the former Chief Technology Officer of OpenAI, announced the launch of her new venture, Thinking Machines Lab. The startup aims to develop customizable AI systems that cater to specific user needs, emphasizing human-AI collaboration. Women in Tech Kazakhstan Leads Crucial Discussion on Gender Bias
The Digital Almaty 2025 Forum, held from January 31 to February 1, solidified its position as Central Asia’s premier platform for technological innovation, attracting over 40,000 attendees and global leaders to discuss AI’s transformative role in industry and society.
Among its standout sessions was the panel “Gender-Biased AI: Technologies for a New Era,” organized by the Women in Tech Kazakhstan Chapter, which tackled systemic gender biases in artificial intelligence and charted pathways toward inclusive innovation.
